Blending chillout, downtempo, ambient, electronic, and classical elements, Raphaël has been crafting a unique, continuously evolving musical landscape since 1996.
Born in Nantes, France, and based in Hamburg, Germany, Raphaël Marionneau has been shaping the chillout music scene for over three decades. He launched his career in 1996 with his groundbreaking chillout night at the Mojo Club, a landmark venue where he served as a resident DJ for over a decade. Alongside his twenty-year residency at Planetarium Hamburg, his abstrait show on N-JOY radio became a cornerstone of Germany’s chillout scene. To date, Raphaël has curated over forty releases on his own label, solidifying his role as a key figure in the genre.
The weekly abstrait sessions deliver a unique fusion of ambient, chillout, electronica, classical, and eclectic music to a global audience. Carefully curated each week and crafted with a passion for chillout, you can tune in on Mixcloud or various international radio stations.

Raphaël Marionneau presents a deeply personal musical interpretation of iconic German silent film classics. Through his signature soundscapes, he reshapes the atmosphere of each movie, seamlessly blending classical and electronic elements to elevate every scene. Since 2005, his live DJ sets have captivated audiences at international film festivals in New York, Paris, Madrid, Brussels, Mallorca, Hamburg or Berlin.
